I kind of agree, Pez, but then again if the price is right then making some occasional income from your pride and joy might help pay for its upkeep. There is a firm down in London now that lets you do what you might call peer-to-peer car hire. Someone sees your car, registers with the scheme and says, 'I'd like to hire your car' and if the car owner is registered too, then it can happen. The company handles all the insurance and stuff.

If you hired out your car for a week at, say, £500 for the week, plus a vast deposit to cover problems (maybe another £500 at least) then that might pay for, say, having the seats retrimmed or the cylinder head reconditioned, or whatever.

Just a thought....
