I removed the very filthy rocker cover to change the rocker cover gasket and spent ages giving the rocker cover a thorough clean and removing the oxidation from the Volvo lettering. I fitted a new gasket obviously but forgot to get a photo of it.

I forgot to get a before picture of the top but you can make out in some previous photos how filthy it was.

I then took the distributor off

The rotor arm has been sanded quite a bit!

Oil seal and fibre washers are way past their best so I'll have to get an oil seal for it, I've got the fibre washers in stock.

Clean rocker cover back on, it isn't as clean as I'd like but I used nearly a whole can of carb cleaner on it as it was rather stubborn so needed something stronger than degreaser.

I took the belts off to replace those and the front oil seals and crank cover gasket.

Cleaned up and new cam seal in

I then came across a problem I've never had on a redblock before... the cambelt sprocket on the end of the crankshaft is stuck solid, I've sorted out a small hub puller for it but I've soaked it periodically in WD40 for the last couple of days. I'll have to have a go at getting it off on Monday.
