Update.
I cannot seem to edit my original post as wanted to provide an update:
I have this morning had a conversation with a Manager from Chris Knotts who has been most helpful.
I have been assured that the CK are happy to pick up issues that their customers have and the advice I was given the other day was incorrect with the individual advised accordingly. Feedback will be provided to the underwriter for the confusion on whether I was insured or not.
My car is now being collected on Monday by an alternative repairer. Hopefully should now have this back a lot sooner than originally thought.
Thank you for the support from this forum especially Chris and thank you to CK for stepping up, intervening and putting things back on track.
Now feeling a lot more positive about this and (hopefully) will have the car back as it was in the not too distant future.
I will provide another update when all is done.
