I had a similar clunk start happening on my MY20 XC60 T8 PE not long before I collected my new XC60 Recharge PE (Extended Range).
When I took it in, the Volvo master tech diagnoses it as an issue with the ERAD drive shaft bolt torques and spline lubricant (a known issue that had a Technical Bulletin out for it). The clunk is where the drive shafts have a little play where they connect into the hubs and so clunk when pulling away in electric.
The dealership carried out the technical bulletin repair on it and the clunk did go away for a while but came back after a couple of weeks but I was due to collect my new car so never went back to get it sorted further.
I've not heard of any similar issues with the Extended Range ERAD but you never know, it could have transferred over from the older style to the extended range ERAD.
