I am pleased to say that our 440 is finally running again. It looks like the rotor arm or distributor cap were faulty. It was a battle to get the old rotor arm off. It was necessary to drill into the sleeve of the old rotor arm which eventually allowed a screw driver to crack/split the sleeve - see photo attached.
This is the first time I am pleased to replace a component with a metal sleeve by a plastic one !
