The red block engines do like good condition plugs and run smother, so I change mine at 10,000m to get the best out of the car ,esplicley turbo cars. but they will do more (standard plugs ie BP6ES/BP7ES),with out too much problems,If you can notice the diffreance then they were over due.
For what they cost ,I would reather change them.
If you drive your car hard then go for the 7's,if not or it is getting on and uses a bit of oil then go for the 6's
