A couple of further thoughts.

The B20 makes sense for the Italian market as the tax on cars with 2-litre plus engines was horrendous - Ferrari offered a 208GTB/GTS in the domestic market for that very reason so Volvo would have fitted the B20 for the same reason.

The clear indicator lenses are PROBABLY correct; I can remember seeing a lot of Italian-registered cars in Glasgow in the 1970s with clear front indicators (Fiat 124s, 125s and even a couple of 500s!). Similarly the orange button repeaters would have been required for the Italian market.

As has been noted, the B20 came from the 140 so it might be worth looking on that section for tips, hints and parts.

I assume that it originally had some form of driving/spot/fog light fitted above the front bumper as there are 2 grommets visible in the head-on shots?
