There's no 'right' way. Remember your fluid-dynamics, the longer a pipe gets the more this reduces flow, Double the diameter puts flow up by 5-7 times!

Not best, - it'll restrict in itself, yet if you're really strugglin' find one of those hose-springs to place inside the hose, you shouldn't need it though. Provided you get it to 'flow', it'll be dandy.
