Had two XC90's and wonder if their bonnets auto close?

How does the auto close, work?
The bonnet, closed with a clunk, for want of a better word.

When I saw this the first thing I thought was - what is the date? - I then thought I would check it on my car and I now realise that it is that date for this post that is wrong

It should have been posted on 1st April!!
