Have you got enough oil in the engine? As Willber said, you shouldn’t be starting it if there’s not enough oil in it. That could definitely create smoke & do serious damage! Make sure the oil is where its supposed to be.

yes i do have oil in but not to the level it should be.i have no transport to go get any....i think the turbo is drinking all the oil....the car did smoke even when the oil was full. i even removed a bit of oil just in case the mechanic had put too much oil in.but no difference. by the way...i got the rev counter up to just over 5 which i thought was good.has that confused things....if i have to go and buy some oil i will.its just that loosing all that genuine volvo oil the mechanic put in has annoyed me
