That would explain the smoke from the back of the engine. I think oil is leaking onto hot parts creating smoke.
I don’t know how to remove the turbo, sorry.
Have you got enough oil in the engine? As Willber said, you shouldn’t be starting it if there’s not enough oil in it. That could definitely create smoke & do serious damage! Make sure the oil is where its supposed to be.
