It is not the pump which determines the fuel pressure it is the Fuel pressure regulator which in your case should be part of the fuel pump assembly , check the fuel return pipe from the fuel injector rail isn't blocked going back to the tank. that cylindrical stainless steel device on the fuel rail is not the fuel pressure regulator , it is just a pulsation damper. fuel pressure should be about 2.2 bar . 34 psi How are you measuring the fuel pressure?

That pump part number is correct for your car up to chassis number 234999 anyway ! The Pump Electronic Module came out in about 2005 ( probably after chassis 234999 )
