I am having the same problem with my 56 d5 185 xc90 just on 193500 miles I am going to be changing all the rockers and lifters on it. It is due its cambelt soon anyway but it’s the tapping as well it’s awful. I have a c30 d5 too and that is silent.
I will be buying them from Lymm engine components for £192 all in for 20 and a specialist is going to fit them and do the cambelt and service it as well.
