They are extremely fickle pieces of equipment prone to electronic tantrums when least expected or needed, often needing a reset by turning the vehicle of then locking unlocking for normal service to resume.
I would have thought all that would have been removed but if you have such a switch it my be worth trying to arm the system, cause it to cut the engine and then restart and see if the central locking has begun to work again.
Your garage mentioned soldered wires....could they have disturbed anything or did this condition occur as soon as you removed the module?

There's no additional switches, well none that are connected anyway.
I don't think the garage actually did anything, the soldered wires comment was just smoke and mirrors to get out of doing the job at the price they'd quoted, which to be fair was pretty low for the work involved.
I replaced the runlock box last night and nothing changed, alarm light doesn't flash, I'm wondering if it's ust left something unplugged from or near the CEM, there are are two small (I think) 20 pin plugs that don't seem to have a home, one male one female, they look like they should fit together but are just slightly different sizes
I used to be able to remove the key and leave the engine running and lock the doors, handy on a cold morning lol
Will drop the glovebox out tonight when I get home.
