That is my fear too.
It is a bit sticky at the end. I was not able to get rid off stickiness as I was cleaning it. It is closing with a click. Otherwise it is moving freely.
Is it possible to dismantle the EGR motor to check the gearing?
I wish I have some broken EGR to play with.
