V60 D5/D6 hybrid with 81K on the clock, battery gives me between 24 and 27 miles so very little if any degradation. I am really happy with mine, comfortable to drive, excellent motorway cruiser, although I too will be selling it soon. I have not heard of any Volvo's with significant battery issues so I wouldn't be concerned on that score.
I don't find the maintenance costs any more than my previous vehicle (Audi A4 estate).
I am no longer commuting and it just isn't being driven enough to justify it. We already have two other cars, a Leaf which we use for general running around - was my wifes commuting car but she is now working from home full time like me, and a Discovery 3 which we use when we go away with our two children as we need the space, and for towing heavy trailers. If I ever go back to having a significant 5 day a week commute I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.
