Back at it yesterday.Took the steering knuckle off[complete with bearing/hub of course]and took it to a local garage and they got the carrier bolts out plus as I'd seen that the four bolts holding the bearing to the knuckle also looked pretty rusted up and the bolt heads appeared rather chewed up I got them to extract those also.Back at the car and a slim chisel and lump hammer were needed to separate the bearing/hub from the knuckle.At least reassembly went smoothly after a bit of cleaning up of the knuckle.So new bearing installed,new[second hand]strut also installed and with fingers firmly crossed a test drive undertaken and sucess the horrible vibration the car has had since she bought it has now been banished.Next on agenda replacing both broken rear springs,this car I feel is now[albeit slowly]is receiving the love and attention it deserves.
