Well Monty.. I don't get on the forum so much these days, but heh I'm here today, saw your thread so thought I'd give you a quick reply.
I bought my trusty old P80 1998 V70 Tdi CD in 2008 and she's still in daily use. I've had the odd mishap like blowing up engines etc..
but got over those, and despite a few niggles over the years she's got 275k on the clock now and still going strong.

How Many Left , mines one of 26 licenced and there are 21 on the road.
