Central locking
My 2009 V70 failed to open in response to the remote key. Pressing the "lock" option I could hear the system responding. The tailgate also opened OK. I crawled in and tried to manually open doors, no success. Key slot rejected the key. Mechanical key opens driver door but slot still rejects key.
Local agent quotes c£200 for diagnostic test of car delivered to workshop and 1 month delay. Car is perhaps worth less than £3k.
Any possibility of DIY cure?
Can non-franchised garage diagnose?
Any ideas on likely cost of repair?
Any ideas of maxiimising receipts if repair is uneconomic?
