Well I think I found where the dipstick should be - but just found a yellow 'stopper', with no dipstick on the end!
I recently bought the car from my sister who owned it from new, and always had main dealer services carried out. So nobody has replaced the dipstick with a stopper.
Hopefully I've attached three photos of the situation. Any observations would be much appreciated.
