I have also had success with a wetsuit neoprene patch (2mm one) and some neoprene cement, usually in a kit. just make sure you clean carefully with brake cleaner before applying the patch. My issue was on a Clio on one of the "v" sides of the gaiter rather than the bottom or top of the folds. It worked for several years.
