Joking aside, i think you've cracked it. Once you're sure, i'd suggest an oil/filter change, just to get rid of any fue contamination on the oil from whre ti was running rich.  |
I thought about that, looked at the oil expecting it to be black, looks good and clean, but I might give it a treat of new oil and filter.
I wish that I had an Aldi in walking distance!
What is amazing is that the car doesn't use any noticeable amount of oil. My friend's much lower mileage one does.
In the future I may have to sell my 1.7 GLE, its been standing unused for some years now.
By the way, just installed the latest Linux Mint (20.2) on a spare drive, pretty good.
