The immobilisers do work differently on the X40s.

It reads the chip inside the key and if it has the correct code, you can start the engine. Wrong key or key with no code = car no starto.

That way, even if someone were to scan your remote to unlock the car, without the key, the car simply will not start.

Hence the reason why more toe-rags try to halfinch your keys these days rather than break into the car and hotwire it.
