mmm...well thanks for the help so far guys, looks like more work than I expected however I think I will have to do it now the idea is in my head, even if it does take me a while.
So if I understand the situation correctly I can use my existing engine unit with a thicker head gasket and may well have to cut a hole in the bonnet (not a problem).
The turbo unit can be salvaged from a 400 series turbo and should be a (more or less) bolt on job. Don't think I would opt for the 2.0 as would need to think about brakes too huh?
Dave you do this for a living, how much would you charge to do this for me if need be? Please mail if you don't want to say on the forum
