I have a 57 444 and want to put electric wipers on it in place of the vacuum wipers . I bought a complete electric wiper assy off a 65 544 only to discover the wiper spindles , that protrude threw the cowl. are in a different place on the cowl. Probably because the 65 cars had a single windshield and my car has a split windshield. My question is : Did any of the split windshield cars have an electric wiper motor? Perhaps there was a late 57 or early 58 that had electric wipers and , with a split windshield, has the drive spindles in the same place on the cowl. ???
I've searched here and on the web in general and can't find the answer yet I have to believe this modification has been done .
I hope someone here can shed some light for me .
