What makes you think the Head gasket has " Gone" ? They are multi layer steel plates which cant "go" .. I would expect to find something more serious if there is a leak between head and block ...
There are various thicknesses of gasket depending on the piston heights . you can tell which one you need by the number of punched 4 mm holes on a tab in one corner.. Volvo do not recommend head skimming on a diesel for obvious reasons .. 👍
