Thanks. How do you replace the bulb holder? Is it just a case of pulling the two wires out of the old and pressing them in the new? Or do you have to actually splice and join wires which I'm not sure I could do?

I'll order a new bulb holder and then hopefully be able to get the old one out on the next attempt. I managed to move it a little anticlockwise (owners manual says clockwise to remove though) but it didn't want to twist more or pull out. Tried to get pliers around it but it kept falling apart.
