Some years ago my Dad had problems with the diamond cut wheels on his XC90 corroding. Its inevitable where clear powder coat is used, as powder coat really needs the primer coat to adhere properly and for obvious reasons clear powder coat doesnt use the primer.

The wheels were replaced, and the new ones corroded. They were replaced again, and the new ones corroded. In the end the dealer was able to get Volvo to fork out to get the wheels professionally powder coated locally. They didn't quite look like they did originally as the visible diamond cut finish has now gone, but they still looked good and stopped the corrosion problem dead in its tracks. 5 years later they still loom first class.
