Bumping this thread as I'm wondering if a steering lock is the issue I am having with mine.
On Friday it wouldn't turn over, but could hear a clicking noise. It's in the garage at the moment, but they have yet to diagnose it. The Volvo assistance on Friday though said he thinks it's the starter motor.
Funny thing is that I had my steering wheel lock replaced only a couple of months a go after the car wouldn't start so wondering if it could be something to do with that.
I really hope it isn't the starter motor because if it is I have been quoted £740 which includes 3 hours labour!!
