At the risk of insulting your intelligence...are you sure? My info was that they're all conical...and the two are very similar...

EDIT: I may very well be insulting your intelligence, sorry. I just read that 1994 was the last year for conical flanges. If that's true, how did my mate (Dokeh, since you're here, Dave!) get a conical 16T, since the 850R was 1996MY, wasn't it?

I just found this. Conical on the left, "straight" on the right.



Of course they're both "straight" housings...so referring to the one with the solid DP flange as "straight" is a bit misleading. "Straight floating DP flange" and "straight solid DP flange" might be more accurate descriptions. I *really* should be in the pub, rather than writing this nonsense!
