Personally I'd forgone the extra power of the D5 for the 2.4D, so I would be disappointed if the engine was discontinued, but without a test drive, no way to say how the D3 would perform.
I would certainly not buy a car I had not test driven.

They had better get some 2.0 D3 demonstrators over quick then because I think there are a good few XC60 in the pipeline expecting the 2.4 engine in their car who will be thinking the same!
Wonder if there will be an automatic 2.0 D3 that’s economical on its way!
