I think some time spent taking apart every connector in the engine bay and cleaning them will be worth it.
Start by removing the ECU's in the box behind the RH headlamp, one is the engine ECU and the other is the transmission. I suspect you have got water in there and this is the cause of your problems. Have a look at the connector on the ABS ECU below the ABS pump too.
