yup, good advise.

the pipe your talking about is the ambient compressed air flow out of the turbo, the pipe go's to the front of the car where the intercooler is, & then back into the engine (cool) for reignition.

when the pipe popped of all that would have happened was that the turbo would have been venting into the engine bay, hence the loud turbo noise.

with very low pressure into the inlet manifold your car would have been struggling to keep going, this all ties i with what you were exsperiencing i think.

i think no harm would have accured but still seek assurance & get it logged.
