You beat me to it mate, was going to post an update tonight as I got the car back today….

So I drove it to Warrington Volvo on Saturday, made it there in pure electric mode which I was impressed with, the tech came out to have a listen but as you might have guessed it wasn’t making the noise, typical.

I left the car there along with a link to the video and was promised it would be looked at on Tuesday, they had time on Monday and diagnosed the issue as a faulty top oil breather, £417 including inspection, part and labour.
Not a bad outcome considering the things I’ve read but would obviously still like to have the £417 in my bank. The health check also flagged up issues with discs and pads as well as two new tyres which considering it was MOT’d in Feb before I bought it and didn’t even show them as advisories seems a bit suspect.

I can definitely recommend Warrington Volvo, communication was excellent and did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it, can’t ask for anymore really.

Anyway car is back now and running like it was before nice and quiet, while I’ve got you could I just ask a couple of questions? I bought the first xc90 I test drove so I’ve nothing to compare it too…

When the battery runs out when I’m driving around I can feel the engine change as if it starts to charge the battery, I can really feel the engine vibrating through the car, is this normal?

Last question, the car feels like it really really wants to move! When I’m at the lights with my foot on the brake it’s like it wants to take off and I’m having to firmly hold the brake pedal to stop it from moving, compared to other autos I’ve driven, in them I’m just lightly holding the brake and the car stays stationary, again is this normal that it wants to take off?

Cheers, Andy.
