Richiekuk 'just' wants the oil seal replaced, so you 'just' pull out the old one and pop in a new one, oh, you 'just' have to drop the gearbox off first, and that 'just' needs the propshaft disconnecting, and the job just gets bigger and bigger, on a 30 year old car where every bolt can shear or be seized and every obscure part you reveal can be worn out and near impossible to find a replacement which means there's a 940 blocking workshop space.

Having said that richie, have you tried somewhere that specialises in clutch and gearbox work? they would have the background and kit to do that part of the job and possibly be more willing to take it on.
I've just tried another 4. Waiting on a call back from 1.
I understand its not an easy job, but I will pay them for their time.
