As others have said. Only fit tyres of the same or higher spec. So going up to W from V is fine. Dropping from V to H is not OK.

Only exception used to be when fitting winters when the insurance company would usually allow a drop of a single stop in speed rating only. That said winter tyres are now better and easier to buy in higher speed ratings.

I bought some used alloys with winters for the V60. Everything was fine with them, exactly the same except when I got them home I saw that they were of a lower weight rating (mine should be XL, these were standard). So I ended up buying 4 correct new winter tyres and selling off the ones with too low a rating.
