Default Quarter Light Problems

Hi,

The pin that holds the quarter light broke on my Amazon.

I took it apart, but I'm not sure how bad the situation is. The black frame that holds the window section seems to be pretty out of shape. There is a large gap at the front corner (see photo). Should the black frame be a similar "shape" to the chrome window frame that fits into it?

The misalignment of the black frame and the chrome frame leads to the edge catching making it impossible to open the window.

The pin that came out is bent (see photo). The parts book is not clear (to me) about the orientation of the pin. Should it be at 90 degrees to the frame or at an angle?

I'm aiming to replace the pin with a machine screw where I will need to modify the head to make it square so that it fits into the window frame channel. Is there a better fix here?

Really struggling to work out how best to fix this so that the quarter light opens and closes again. I have a new rubber seal and the all important rivets (but no specialist rivet tool). Can anyone help with suggestions?

Thanks,

Ed
