It was quite a business for people to buy cars in the UK ,ship them over and re register as a vintage car.
Pre Brexit there was a lower import tax(VRT) on cars in this tax bracket.
After Brexit import taxes are higher including the dreaded VAT which could be 23% of the value ( value is decided by some nameless civil servant) but not 100% on this.
This would detract all but the hard core importers, who pass it on the the end buyer.
That is interesting. In the UK cars become MoT exempt on their 40th birthday, and tax free on 1 April following the year in which they turn 40 (nice simple civil service rules).

Motor cars suddenly become rather more valuable when they qualify as historic vehicles.
