Last time I had a screen replaced I used a local firm (largely because I was paying for it myself), the big chains wanted silly money for it probably because they can get away with fleecing the insurers, And the number of stories I had seen at the time of problems gave me the impression it was rather like buying tyres- the big names have some good advertising but the staff just want to upsell you to earn commission, do a bodge job, then get you back out of the door as quick as possible. The local guy seemed to actually know what he was doing and was about half the price (paid by card with a proper receipt & VAT, not a dodgy cash deal).
