The sensor goes through through the wheel arch area to a connector under the rear passenger seat. Remove the circular plate over the fuel tank sender unit first, then unplug the old sensor and plug the new one in. Tie the new sensor to the old sensor and pull the old sensor out through the wheel arch, taking the new one with it. A single screw holds the sensor in place at the wheel hub.

The rear sensors don't get stuck like the front sensors, so once the screw is removed the sensor comes away easily. The trickiest part is removing the two rubber grommets on the sensor wire from the brackets under the wheel arch, especially from the bracket that also holds the brake line. Access isn't great but it's by no means difficult. Just a bit fiddly. Take your time and it's doable for a DIY'er.
