Do you know if your charger will come with a tethered cable? I've just had the volvo / New Motion one installed and it comes with a 5m tethered cable, I paid an extra £75 for the 8 metre as one always needs more length...
I survived for 5 months with a granny 3pin charger which was generally ok, but a bit slow. I am pleased we have the wall charger, but if I had to pay £500 for it - not sure.
We do often do 10-15 short trips in a day (hence buying a T8) and so charge a few times during the day especially in winter. it does help having 3.6 kw after my wife's commute which may run the battery down to charge it to full in a couple of hours prior to a long evening family journey.
We do have 2 3pin cables, and a Type 2 so leave one in the car always under the boot floor space.
