I get the feeling that the speed camera locations are part of the navigation map and therefore isn't as dynamic as other manufacturers offer and as such can't really be trusted.

You could (if you had smartphone integration) use Waze, or use more traditional methods of avoiding speed camera detection (or being forewarned of potentially dangerous locations where exceeding the speed limit is more dangerous than other locations).
