Thats very common. All of mine have received that note on the ticket every year.
The D5 is an inherently extremely clean engine in terms of particulates, and provided its well seviced and not regularly driven for short journeys they produce so little in the way of smoke emissions that its quite normal for them to not even trigger the meter when the smoke test is conducted.
