Hi Steve,

from what i understand the SIPS (Side Impact Protection System)is the extra piece of metal molded into the corner of the door frame (on the bodyshell, has SIPS etched into it), with gives a bit more bracing for the shell on side impact. I always thought it was side airbags until i found i've only got a bag in the steering wheel.
