With remote start, the car will just heat or cool the cabin to whatever your set temperature is. If its cold (<10c), the auto heated seats and wheel etc also come on as they would if you got into your car and started it up. I don't think there's anything other than air con to cool the cabin is there? Ventilated seats maybe (I don't have them)?
With preconditioning, if you have all the required options on board, it sets the cabin to an unspecified 'comfort temperature'. Around 20C I'd imagine.
I think that's still correct anyway....
