In principle the idea of bonding seems to be very sensible to me.

(Didn't loads of old style composite aircraft - i.e. wooden ones - rely on glue to hold them together? For example the Mosquito? Jodells? Robins?)
I think there were some screws in there also.

I know there are in wooden framed Morgan cars.
