If you cover a lot of miles and maintain the GDi then it is fine to a degree. As you've said though, you put up with the rough idle. It makes logical sense for somebody buying a new one to avoid the GDi and not have to put up with anything.
Don't take that the wrong way. Not having a pop at your car or even GDi's in general but it makes sense for a buyer to avoid engines with known problems especially if he/she is not doing a lot of miles.
