Just seems odd when braking is front end biased that the rears erode so much faster... and discs only last one set of pads..

Sorry, I only just re-read your original thread and thought you were talking about the rear pads.
My rear discs are on 55k (2 sets of pads). The third set of pads went on at 50k and my Indy who is in no rush to change parts, ummmed and arrrred before deciding to leave the existing discs on for a bit longer.
So, if like mine, the rear discs should get you a minimum of 2 sets of pads.
