I wonder what the comparison of miles driven vs accidents is for driverless cars vs human drivers, I assume it would be much safer for the driverless car systems but perhaps not.

I watched the footage and didn’t see her until it was too late. Presumably the car had lights on, and as others have posted, she was already in middle of road, so clearly she didn’t look properly either.
This is an area where I think a Humab wouldn’t have stopped, but would have hoped LIDAR would have helped.
