Default C30 rear brake wind in tool.

Can someone help me?
I recently tried to replace the rear pads on my C30 and, unlike the front, the pistons wouldn't push back in. I soon found out that it is because they are threaded and need winding in as you push them.

Now after speaking to a mechanic friend AND looking on various online forums, I purchased this generic Laser 1314 wind in tool which everyone seemed to say would work:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Laser-1314-.../dp/B002V72SHS

The problem is, it doesn't.
When you line up one of the pins, the second sits maybe 1mm at a push 2mm out from the other. I even thought that it could have been sediment build up or something so gave the piston a good scrub with a wire brush. Still no look, it just isn't the right tool.

With that in mind, which tool should I use?
I see a lot of people saying they've used a G clamp and some pliers but I'd prefer to get the proper thing.

Thank you in advance for any help offered!
